What is Photonics and why is it so important for industry?
The science of light, it is important for faster communication, precise measurements, and advanced tech. we use power and digital electronics to drive LEDs, which are widely used in lighting and displays.

Photonics is often described as the science of light. Can you share how your work in photonics helps solve real-world problems, and what personally fascinates you most about working with light?
By controlling LEDs with power electronics, we create efficient lighting solutions. I like turning circuits into visible light.

What fascinates you personally about Photonics—and how is it changing industrial applications?
Seeing how electrical control can manipulate light fascinates me. It makes lighting and more efficient.

Photonics technologies are everywhere—from smartphones to medical devices. What’s one application of Photonics that surprised you, and how does your research contribute to it?
Smart lighting is amazing. My contribution is designing the electronics that make them work reliably.

What is your personal motto or slogan?
Simple and efficient.

Which person (dead or alive) would you like to meet for coffee, tea or beer?

What originally brought you to Vorarlberg—and what made you decide to work at V-Research?
Vorarlberg’s quality of life and V-Research offered exciting projects.

What differences or similarities do you see between the work culture in your home country and at V-Research?
The work culture here is flexible, not like home country, but with a stronger focus on innovation and R&D.

What do you particularly appreciate about Vorarlberg—both professionally and personally?
Beautiful nature, and a good environment for innovation.

Is there a dish or beverage from your home country that you particularly miss—or perhaps even cook or prepare here in Vorarlberg?
I sometimes miss Iranian Kabab Koobideh.
