What is Computational Sustainability and why is it so important for industry?
An interdisciplinary field that helps addressing the sustainability challenges through data-driven solutions. It helps the industry to balance the technical, economic and environmental output.

Can you give an example of how your work contributes to resource conservation in industry?
By understanding the true niche of a system, it becomes easier to identify the most efficient operating points/bottlenecks of a system. It helps the industries to properly optimize the daily businesses, reducing energy and materials waste.

What role do data and modelling play in sustainable product development?
Data and modelling help identifying the anomalies and inefficiencies in a product’s overall lifecycle. The simulation helps simulating different design choices that enable the designer to find out the most cost-effective and resource efficient design.

What motivates you to work at the intersection of AI and Data Science?
The rapid evolution of this field is equipping me with continuous challenges, which I find equally thrilling and fun.

Mountain and snow

What differences or similarities do you see between the work culture in your home country and at V-Research?
I believe V-Research offers better work-life balance, supported by an atmosphere of mutual respect and empathy.

What do you particularly appreciate about Vorarlberg—both professionally and personally?
Vorarlberg offers a beautiful combination of high-quality life and natural surroundings, which is really needed for both my mental and physical recovery.
